This is an image of a the Pompeian Temple in St Annes Park in Dublin. Sadly now its in such a poor state of repair that it is completely barred and shut up. The park was originally the family home of the Guinness family. The estate was laid out early in the 19th century by Benjamin Lee Guinness.
The reason he erected the building was “the panoramic view of Dublin Bay from the estate, with the ones of the Great and Little Sugar Loaf mountains silhouetted against the sky, reminded him of the bay of Naples in Italy and this influenced his layout of the gardens”.
