What we call bad weather, is actually good weather for any sort of photography. The amount of times I have gone out with my camera in the pouring rain and come home with a great image are too many to recount, now when I see the clouds gathering or hear the forecaster talking about heavy rain, I put time aside to get out!
Shoot in the rain. The light is better because the clouds make nice soft, even light. People are so busy hurrying along that they generally don’t notice you, which is a bonus. It’s worth protecting your gear though. Don’t assume its going to take a good soaking and just carry on working. You can use a plastic bag or a shower cap to protect the camera body. When I stay in a hotel I find it impossible not to take the shower cap provided and put it in my camera bag!
if you live in Ireland you might as well make the most of this type of weather so next time it rains get out there!
